Xiaomi sold more than one million units of Redmi 5A in less than a month says managing director of Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Singh on Twitter.

Since India has become the second largest smartphone market in the world, more and more smartphone vendors had entered the Indian market mostly with mid-range smartphones.
Primary players like Samsung has been holding the highest percentage in the market for years. But now new players like Xiaomi made their way in the market covering the major portion of the present market.
While Xiaomi Redmi note 4 has been the best selling smartphone of 2017 in India. They also launched a bunch of other mid-range smartphones keeping the price range lower than the Redmi note 4.
Redmi 5A specifications
The Redmi 5A is the successor of Redmi 4A which was also a successful launch in India, claiming that they had sold over four million units within eight months of its launch. The Redmi 5A is such a device that Xiaomi come up with and we really can’t ignore it, because of the flattering specs they are providing at such a cheap price.
It comes with a 5inch HD display with pixels resolution of 720×1280 followed by 140.40 ×70.10×8.40 and weight 137 gram. It sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is powered by 1.4 GHz quad-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor.
It packs a big 3000 mAh non-removable battery that easily lasts a typical full day. It comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat and the latest MIUI 9 out of the box. There are two variants of the Redmi 5A available in the market. The 2GB ram and 16GB storage variant cost ₹4999 and the 3GB ram and 32GB storage variant cost ₹6999.The device is available in Gold, Rose Gold and Grey colors.
